The contest is held on the 12th of September 2017, from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. The registrations are open from 8.45 am to 9.00 am.  During the contest, teams of young researchers will challenge themselves by  analyzing a dataset and proposing a solution to the related statistical problem. The dataset will be available only the day of the contest. Participants are kindly invited to bring and use their own laptops.

Each team has to upload by the end of the contest:

  • its output in a .txt format;
  • the complete and working code used to obtain the output;
  • a brief presentation (about 3/4 slides) for explaining their solution.

At the end of the contest, each team will present its work in a 3 minutes presentation by showing the previously mentioned slides.

Further details will be given at the beginning of the contest.

All the submissions are evaluated by the scientific board, a group composed of researchers, professors and company’s representatives, according to objective criteria explained at the beginning of the competition.

The best two teams are awarded with prizes kindly offered by our sponsors Data Reply, Oracle and Cariplo, according to the performance of the proposed method and the presentation. The main prize consists in four scholarships  for attending ‘The Data Incubator’ course, about advanced techniques for machine learning and applied statistics, offered by Data Reply.

The Data Incubator is a 8 weeks training programme about Data Science. Each week focuses on a certain topic such as advanced machine learning, spark, web scraping and many more!

Moreover, the winners have the opportunity to show their solutions during a dedicated moment within the CLADAG2017 conference.
